Which format should I convert to?

Will converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. Conversion never adds detail that wasn't there: a JPG converted to PNG just becomes a larger file with the same quality. Convert down the quality ladder (PNG → JPG/WebP) to save space, never up expecting improvement.
Does converting to JPG lose my transparency?
Yes — JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent areas become white. If you need transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
